These prices are for standard sized realistic drawn subject matters. However, if you're interested in a different size other than those stated here or possible different styled art (example: comic styled artwork), please feel free to email and inquire. Prices will be properly adjusted to suit the style. Other sizes, both smaller and larger ARE also available.
Digital work and Photo Manipulation
Costs begin at $20.00 for basic manipulations and digital work. Please Email Me for a precise quote on the work you would like to have done.
All Digital work and Photo Manipulations will be done at a high resolution (300dpi minimum) so that a standard 8x10 print can be made from it and will be emailed to you. Higher resolution is available at no extra charge, just indicate the size you would like before the commission is started. If you require a disk with your commissioned work on it at high resolution it will cost extra for the disk and for shipping and handling (within Canada $6.00 includes price of the disk and shipping and handling charges) Outside of Canada, please email to inquire about shipping costs.
Commission Requirements
1. Choose a photo that you have that you would like turned into a pencil portrait. Or, send me a detailed description of what you would like with any reference photo's. If it's a portrait you would like, the larger the reference picture, the more details I can see and the better the drawing will be. If you would like something a little different and truly unique done with the photo/image, please specify in detail what you would like or submit a photo/image of what you have in mind. I can work it either way. OR if you have a character sketch you would like done, give me a detailed description of his/her appearance, clothing and any other specific information of how you would like the character drawn (with any possible reference photo's you may want used).
Example of unique ideas for your portrait drawing:
- Portrait of you in a pirate outfit swabbing the decks
- Portrait of you or a loved one dressed in period clothing!
- Perhaps something as simple as a family portrait with your favourite landmark in the background
Example of character sketch requirements:
1. Detailed Description of your character. EXAMPLE: Character has huge bulging muscles like the hulk with a scar over left eye with a tattoo of a griffin on his right shoulder with commando like clothing wearing ammunition strapped to his chest in criss crossing belts. He has one blue eye, one green eye. Has blonde military cropped hair with streaks of blue on either side. Always looks mean. He wears military boots with gun holsters on both hips, one at the base of his back, holster straps on both legs with knives in them.
2. Send an email to trishellisart@theartsyfartsys.com and let me know what you would like me to draw and what size you would like.
3. I will respond within 24 hours and will let you know when I can start your
drawing and about how long it will take to complete it.

I retain all copyrights to all commissioned drawings (unless otherwise stated in writing by me, the artist Trish Ellis) and cannot be reproduced without my written permission. (unless otherwise stated in writing by me, the artist Trish Ellis) I retain the right to display it on my web site & associated web sites for self-promotional purposes. All artwork purchased from me (prints and original commissions) may only be used for personal display by the client unless otherwise negotiated. You are only purchasing the artwork , not the rights, so please respect the artist's copyrights.
Timeline
Commissions may take anywhere between a week and 8 weeks depending on complexity of the image, and commission slots availability. The client will be advised during the initial contact stage of the approximate date of completion. If artwork is required within a certain time limit this must be stated up front.
If you have a special date in mind; birthday, anniversary, special occasion etc, please let me know and I will do my best to get it to you for your special occasion.
Shipping and Handling
Shipping and handling charges are extra and vary with the size of your commission but starts at $6.00 within Canada. Insurance is available, but optional and only costs $1 (canadian) extra. Shipping outside of Canada is available to US and International customers, please Email Me for prices.
Methods of Payment
I require a 50% deposit before any pencil work is started.. Once your drawing is complete, full payment, including shipping and handling must be received and cleared before the drawing is shipped to you. Additional costs may be incurred if the client changes their mind after approval of the initial sketch or requests major changes on finished commission.
Currently, only cash and money orders are the accepted methods of payment and should be made out to: Patricia Ellis
